The Next Chapter Feels Like Home for Owen Crampsie

With the launch of Coldwell Banker Essential Realty, the Windsor-Essex broker returns to ownership with a clear vision for agent development, client service and community connection.

Ask Owen Crampsie what brought him back to Coldwell Banker Canada, and his answer is personal.

“The blue is in my blood.”

With more than three decades in real estate, including 21 years as a brokerage owner, Crampsie is opening a new chapter with Coldwell Banker Essential Realty. Serving Windsor and Essex County, the brokerage brings together his local knowledge, commitment to mentorship and belief that strong leadership starts with staying close to the work.

For Crampsie, that means continuing to serve clients while helping agents build their careers.

“I never stopped selling because I think it matters to stay close to the market,” Crampsie explains. “If you are going to train agents, you need to understand what buyers, sellers and agents are actually facing. You need to be where the work is happening.”

It’s an approach shaped by a career that began with a deeply personal motivation.

After moving to Canada from Belfast as a child, Crampsie spent his early working years in retail management. In 1995, as a young father looking to build a better future for himself and his daughter, he made the move into real estate.

He quickly became one of his office’s top-performing agents. Eight years later, he joined Coldwell Banker Canada as a broker-owner, beginning a 21-year ownership journey that would see agent development become a defining part of his work.

During that time, his offices produced multiple national rookie-of-the-year winners and earned recognition for strong per-agent production. Those accomplishments reflect a conviction he’s bringing to Coldwell Banker Essential Realty. Agents need access to experienced leadership, practical training and someone they can turn to as they learn.

“I’ve never believed in throwing people into this business and hoping they figure it out,” Crampsie explains. “Agents need real mentorship, support and leadership from someone who still understands what is happening at the kitchen table, at the listing appointment and in the market every day.”

That philosophy will guide the new brokerage. Through hands-on mentorship and direct market guidance, Crampsie wants to help agents develop the skills and confidence to serve their clients well throughout their careers.

For buyers and sellers across Windsor-Essex, the same approach translates into a focus on local insight, transparency and relationships. Crampsie’s continued involvement in sales keeps him connected to the decisions clients are making and the questions they bring to each transaction.

His connection to the region extends well beyond real estate.

Over the years, Crampsie has helped raise more than $250,000 for local causes, supporting work that addresses homelessness and helps children, women and families in crisis. He has also created video profiles for local non-profits, using storytelling to bring attention to the people delivering frontline support in the community.

That commitment is part of what makes his return to ownership significant for Coldwell Banker Canada.

“Owen brings the kind of experience you can’t manufacture,” shares Karim Kennedy, CEO of Coldwell Banker Canada. “He has built his career on trust, training and showing up for his community.”

For Crampsie, Coldwell Banker Canada offers a familiar foundation for what comes next. His history with the brand, its reputation and the support available through the network all helped shape his decision to return.

“Coldwell Banker Canada has always had a quality feel to it,” he reflects. “It is a brand people recognize, and it gives us the tools, reputation and support to build something strong here in Windsor-Essex County.”

With Coldwell Banker Essential Realty, he’s bringing that next chapter home, creating a brokerage grounded in the relationships and hands-on leadership that have shaped his career from the beginning.
