Peter is extremely well known in the community for his strong support and involvement with many community organizations. He is a member of the City of Kitchener Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) and Waterloo Region ReUrbanization Working Group. Peter is currently Chair of the City of Kitchener Twin Pads Places to Play fundraising committee and was co-chair of the RIM Park fundraising committee. Peter was also Honourary Chairman of the Kitchener Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial, and he is an active member of the St. Mary's Hospital Capital Fundraising Committee and the Conestoga College Golf Classic Organizing Committee. Peter has been recognized with the following awards:
1994: Solicitor General's award for Fire Prevention and Public Education.1997: Peter was graciously welcomed into the honourable fraternity of International Fire Safety Ambassadors.2000: The Waterloo Regional Safety Council presented Peter with an award for his outstanding contribution to community. In the fall of that same year he also received the Gerald H. Beckner Memorial Award for his outstanding contribution toward Fire Safety International Fire Safety Ambassadors.2004: Peter was very honoured to have been the first recipient of the Lyle S. Hallman Award, presented by the Waterloo Region Home Builder's Association.2005: Peter received the Vic Sellner Community Service Award as part of the Waterloo Region Home Builder's Association Awards of Distinction. 2005: Peter was honoured with the Jim Copeland Award given by the Ontario Municipal Fire Prevention Officers Associations for his efforts in promoting Fire and Life Safety in our community, through Fire Safety education.
Peter Benninger has completed 29 successful years in his real estate sales career. In 1985, he founded Coldwell Banker Peter Benninger Realty, which has grown to include a staff of over 100 people. In March 2002, Peter consolidated his four separate branches, including the firm's commercial division, and relocated to 508 Riverbend Drive in Kitchener, a beautiful state-of-the-art building which houses the firm's innovative Real Estate Consumer Centre.
Peter is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the Province of Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Real Estate Association Commercial Council, Ontario Real Estate Association and the K-W Real Estate Board. Peter serves as manager of Coldwell Banker Commercial Peter Benninger Realty and remains active on select assignments. He has personally sold more than 1,000 properties, including many multi-million dollar properties and he is the lead contact as the Broker of Record for the City of Kitchener and the lead Real Estate Service provider for the City of Waterloo.
